welcome as well at our event, which will be poolside at the Blue Moon where we will have our lavishly catered dinner. 35th Annual GLBTQ Dinner at NAB Always on Tuesday evening, this year's dinner will be held on 17 April, 2012 at the same place as recent years. We hope the weather will be warm so we can enjoy dinner on the patio around the pool and waterfall: Blue Moon Resort 2651 Westwood Drive Las Vegas, NV 89109 http://www.bluemoonlv.com Local: 702-784-4500 Toll Free: 866-798-9194 It's very close to The Strip. Actually, if you could go directly to it, it's behind Circus Circus just east of I-15 and only a few blocks west of the Convention Center. But Circus Circus Drive doesn't go through. So, from The Strip or LVCC go north to Sahara, then west and get off on Highland/Western immediately before the I-15 Northbound on-ramp. Follow the exit around to the right and turn right (south) on Western. Go under Sahara and take a right on Westwood where Western, Highland, and Westwood come together a block south of Sahara. Or go a block further on Highland and turn right on Presido which will run into the Blue Moon parking lot. Check a map program on the internet if you like. The Blue Moon has suggested Desert Cab at 702-386-9102. "Cash and Carry" social hour begins whenever you can get there after the convention floor closes at 6 PM. Dinner will be served buffet style at 7:00 with delicious food, soft drinks, and desserts. It's catered! Cost is still only $20 per person. Alcoholic Drinks, extra. If you enjoy the food and/or the service, please feel free to tip generously! GLBTQs (and not!) welcome. Bring your friends/spouses/associates. It's a chance to meet some of the most helpful people on the email lists, too. As always, we are pleased to welcome Friends of Dorothy, the GLBT group which has been organizing dinners at programming related conventions for many years. (Information about them at http://www.radiofod.com ) AND the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association. (Information about them at http://www.nlgja.org ) Please help us get the word out. We have the Yahoo Groups website. There you can post messages, meet others, as well as RSVP. It is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NAGLB Our Websites are at http://www.naglb.org and http://naglb.com Facebook is at http://www.facebook.com/pages/National-Association-of-Gay-Lesbian-Broadcasters-NAGLB/181604721872561 You can also RSVP to rsvp@naglb.org. The National Association of Gay & Lesbian Broadcasters, formed officially nineteen years ago, is a networking and social organization that is an outgrowth of informal gatherings that have been held annually since 1978. Previous attendees have represented all areas of broadcasting and related fields. Held to coincide with the world's largest annual broadcasting convention, the NAGLB gathering provides an ideal opportunity to make new broadcasting acquaintances from throughout the USA and the world. It's been another year of industry changes, but we're looking forward to seeing all of you again; and many new faces as well. So BE THERE! This will be a very pleasant evening. If you can't attend this year, but would like to be on our email list to receive an announcement next time, contact me, lylehenry@fastmail.fm Posting this notice to other relevant sites encouraged. Travel west on W. Sahara Ave. Get in the right-hand lane. Cross over the railroad tracks. As you head down toward I-15 you will see a very small exit sign on your right for Highland Drive. Watch carefully. It's real small and easy to miss. Exit here, and make a hard right, (onto Scotland Ln.) and right again to go underneath Sahara Ave. Turn left onto S. Highland Drive, and then right onto Presidio Ave. When Presidio comes to a dead end, the Blue Moon will be right in front of you. Better yet....Stay at the Blue Moon, and then you'll be right at home! With your RSVP you can get a 25% discount code, which drops rates to as low as $63. RSVP now to Lyle Most of the local Cab companies know the Moon well enough by now, if you want to relax and leave the driving to them. If you plan to enjoy the beverages available at the party, please consider this option. |
